“Ephyrian Circle” is the heart of the Sisyphus Project.

Ephyra is another name for Corinth, the city founded and ruled by                                         Sisyphus.

The Sisyphus Project and Ephyrian Circle began with a Research                                           Grant from Western Carolina University. Its conceptual focus was                                            a sculpture environment with electronic components powered in                                            part by the participating viewer.

Transfer of kinetic to electric energy was developed With   the assistance of Kevin Webb of Tackle Design.   Participants grasp the  “Pull – Replace” cable handle and   pull the stone up  the ramp.  Light and audio are triggered.

A text component was added by invited contributors who   considered the issue of useful-uselessness.

Review of Ephyrian Circle

.

I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the mountain! One always finds one's burden again. But Sisyphus teaches the higher fidelity that negates the gods and raises rocks.
