Call for Art

Not a web log, not a journal, not me, not much.   Some passing thoughts, quotes, and images - always - good for nothing.  - Mr. Oland

The world of creation being the good-for nothing world, it belongs to anyone with creativeness, that is to say anyone claiming his natural birth-gift:  good for nothingness.   - Robert Filiou

OLAND HAS 3 HEAPING PILES OF THOUGHT

Spring Break - hooray! Most of wcu work completed yesterday. Now what? Maybe nothing. See what happens. Studio is calling! Hello?

Very excited for Patrick and Lidia who are planning a trip to India or Nepal. They leave for retreat soon and then on to Asia. I have such an attraction to India, its complexity, richness, intensity--its spirituality, dance, music, art, and food!! Wow! Have been enjoying teaching - but traveling and attending retreats are strong incentives to do "work" which allows more spontaneous trips to where ever - whenever.

Watching thought-themes - there are 3 main ones these days. It's interesting how the chatter wants to go somewhere, land on something all the time. If it's not this pile of s--t, it's another!! Which one now? Ha, ha. Such lovely sources of suffering.

P & L's cat Kali died Wednesday - a wonderful creature. Yes, impermanence and it hurts...

LINEAR POCKETS. IS EVERYTHING HAPPENING ALL AT ONCE?

Love/hate "relationship" with Ken Wilber is fading to general respect.
Couple days ago began reading "One Taste" linearly, and it has rewarded.
Originally read selectively and avoided - at all cost - any (god forbid) diagrams and entries (One Taste is a journal) that seemed too ego-involved. Hah! who am "I" to judge!!?

Despite his praise of Alex Gray in more than one place in this book (see art snob below - more on that later) have grown to respect what he is saying and USE it in practice - there's a gift. (Even the one diagram that I finally looked at made sense at a gut level) However joining one of his Intregral web sites proved too much and I canceled....

Sara's mother passed away. Aware of her presence - even though she is miles away.

It's sunny, cool, a cardinal is singing! On lower left side of back an awareness of a wrenching (from field trip to dump with students) that has demanded some coddling. There are pockets of (heart) aches in certain moments and joy in others. Loved washing the Precious Pri, preparing assignments for classes, and even tax data prep this weekend (now THAT is crazy - amazing).

Glory be!
