Grateful for opportunity to slow down. New kitty in rare
moment of quiet - is lying on my lap. We're thinking a
name like Moxie or Caper might work - after all she made
a break for it in the shelter! What a lot of energy this
one has - everything is endlessly interesting.

This weekend tried
to see how many things
I could do and stay cool (at center)
Cici's visit, deadline, Russel's dinner, hike -
we even chose a kitten (Knew she was ours
when told she broke out of cage at shelter - go kitty.)
then Sunday, Asheville, brunch, massage, and shopping.
Cici and I talked hilariously of times we have been angry:
once at Junaluska a driver almost hit me when I was running.
In a burst of fury, I screamed BAD BAD WOMAN!

The katydids stopped two nights ago.
Have they finished their rhythms
or did it get too cold for them?

everything is tippy
can't hang on to one damn thing
as soon as i am sure

the rope breaks

Though katydids are clacking
there is a coolness tonight.
Darkness comes sooner
trees have hints of gold.
Here and there a memory
still entwines my achy back.

Back from RR in Blowing Rock, Boone. Lovely drive up
parkway. A vigorous hike yesterday punctuated by
monster boulders, and gentle waterfalls.
Great to get away. Simply enjoyable.
